This report focuses on the findings from the health services for the urban poor (HSUP)component of the BDS.  The purpose of the HSUP component is to increase the utilisation of primary and secondary quality health care services by the urban poor through improved quality and removal of social and economic barriers to access. The experience of working to provide these services in an urban context will also inform the development of policy for improving the health status of the urban poor.
